Privacy Policy

ViTViT is a transport and delivery platform built in Haiti. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the ViTViT client, driver, or store apps.

By using ViTViT, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account: your name, phone number, email (if you provide one), and preferred language.
• Identity (for drivers): driver’s license, NIF, and CIN for verification.
• Location: your GPS position while you use the service, to find nearby drivers and track the trip.
• Contacts: only when you choose to send a trip to a contact — we do not copy your address book.
• Photos: your profile photo, and document photos for drivers.
• Payment: cash and MonCash transaction records. We do not store card numbers.
• Device: a notification token to send you messages about your trips.

2. How we use information

To connect riders and drivers, manage trips and deliveries, and process payments.

For safety, customer support, and fraud prevention.

To comply with Haitian law when required.

3. Your location

We collect your location only while you are using ViTViT. For drivers, we track location during an active trip — even when the phone is locked — so the customer can see where you are and for safety. An indicator is shown while this happens.

We delete GPS location data after 90 days.

4. Who we share with

Between riders and drivers: only the information needed for the trip. We NEVER share real phone numbers — all calls go through a masked number (Twilio).

Service providers: Google Maps (maps), MonCash (payment), Twilio (SMS and calls), Expo (notifications), DigitalOcean (storage). They process data only to help us provide the service.

For law or safety: when required by law or to protect people.

We NEVER sell your personal information.

In an emergency or when you press the SOS button, we may share your location with your emergency contacts or with the authorities to protect you.

5. Security

We encrypt sensitive information (phone, email, MonCash, NIF, CIN) with AES-256-GCM encryption. All communication uses secure connections (HTTPS).

OTP codes are deleted immediately after you use them.

6. How long we keep data

We keep your account information until you delete your account. GPS data is deleted after 90 days. OTP codes are deleted after use.

7. Your rights

You can view and correct your information in the app.

You can delete your account directly in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your personal information and cannot be undone.

8. Minimum age

You must be at least 18 to have a ViTViT account. We do not knowingly collect information from people under 18. A person under 18 may only travel when accompanied by a responsible adult.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date and let you know if the change is important.

10. Where we store your data

To run the service, we store your data on secure servers located outside Haiti — currently in the United States, with the provider DigitalOcean. The data is protected with encryption. By using ViTViT, you agree that we store and process your information this way. We protect it the same way wherever it is.

11. Your consent

By creating an account and using ViTViT, you consent to our collecting and using your information as this policy explains. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account in the app.

12. Language of this policy

We provide this policy in three languages: Haitian Creole, French, and English, and we make every effort for all three versions to say the same thing. If there is any difference, the Haitian Creole version prevails.
